9 Things To Do In Little Cayman

1. Explore the island on a scooter

3. Kayak to Owen Island

Get the castaway experience on this tiny deserted island just across the way from Southern Cross Club.  Kayak or paddle board over to this 11-acre Islet to experience tranquility and secluded beauty for the day. You'll find ultimate peace and solitude and the clearest waters in Cayman at Owen Island.

4. Snorkel or Swim at Point of Sand

Great for snorkeling and swimming, this whiter-than-white sandy beach is a secluded shell-studded shoreline on the south-east of the island. Walk a way down from the dock and on clear day you can see the Brac.

 

5. Watch the Sunset at the lighthouse

Sunsets in Little Cayman are truly sublime. Bring your camera to the lighthouse, sunset bar or at the lookout by the barge for an uninterrupted colorful spectacle in the sky and watch the sun dip below the horizon.

 

6. Go fishing

Charter a boat out deep sea fishing, fly fishing at Tarpon Lake or bone fishing with Southern Cross Club. Locals reel in everything from Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi and Snapper from these waters, if you want to fish fthe Caribbean you're in the right place.

7. Chill out

Getting serious R & R isn't a difficult task on this tiny, peaceful island. Hop in a low-slung hammock, flop out under a thatch-roof cabana or read a book in the sand. Sun + sand + Little Cayman = relaxation.

 

8. Saturday night BBQ at McCoy's Sunset Bar

You haven't been to Little Cayman if you haven't had a sundowner rum punch and scoffed some home-style Caymanian cooking at McCoys Sunset Bar. Every Saturday at 5pm Maxine and Wade McCoy welcome you into their back-yard, cook up smoky jerk, fish, rice and beans on an old Caymanian caboose and share their island stories with anyone who'll listen. Come hungry and curious and it'll turn out to be the best night you have in Little Cayman.

 

9. Go in search of nature

Watch out for boobies and frigates at Booby Pond or stumble upon lazy soldier crabs or rock iguanas idly crossing the road. In the Little Cayman, you're surrounded by wildlife, literally everywhere you look.
